COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga lies in the heart of our downtown district, ideally located on the banks of the Tennessee River and surrounded by plenty of local attractions. Offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs, along with many exciting research opportunities, UTC is equipped with high-tech learning facilities and accomplished professors. Chattanooga State Community College offers a variety of two-year degree programs and technical certificate programs. No matter what you plan on doing after graduation, there are plenty of options here to forge your own pathway.

Southern Adventist University is a private university offering degrees in everything from arts and humanities to science and mathematics. Bryan College in nearby Dayton, TN is a private Christian liberal arts college that offers programs ranging from Associates’ to Masters’ degrees. Private Christian liberal arts college Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA offers a specialized faith-based education. In Cleveland, TN, Lee University is becoming one of the largest Christ-centered private institutions in Tennessee.

K-12 PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The Hamilton County Schools district operates 36 elementary schools, 19 middle schools, 17 high schools and 14 magnet schools in this region. Additionally, in 2019, Hamilton County Schools earned the highest level of student academic growth in literacy, numeracy, social studies, and overall.

Hamilton County Schools also offer 28 Future Ready Institutes across 13 zone high schools, providing students with career, theme-based teaching beginning in 9th grade. These diverse programs range from manufacturing and robotics to entrepreneurship and marketing and are designed to prepare students for a postsecondary jump start.

PRIVATE & CHARTER SCHOOLS

Chattanooga also offers private and charter school options for K-12 students. Small class sizes ensure that teachers are hands-on with students.
